PepGuide is a peptide research encyclopedia. Database-backed profiles are structured around published literature and direct source links. Some older research guides are still being brought up to the same citation and review standard; readers should weigh each page by the evidence it links. PepGuide and Rylume are operated by the same team, and that relationship is disclosed wherever live Rylume availability appears.

Mission

We exist to make peptide research accessible. The scientific literature on peptides is scattered across thousands of journals, locked behind paywalls, and written for specialist audiences. PepGuide consolidates this research into clear, comprehensive profiles that anyone can read — while preserving the rigor and citations that researchers expect.

Our goals:

  • Consolidate peer-reviewed peptide research into a single, searchable resource
  • Make claims traceable — important scientific claims should link to primary or authoritative sources
  • Protect editorial independence — commercial availability never determines coverage, claims, or conclusions
  • Improve continuously — profiles and legacy guides are reviewed as evidence and editorial capacity allow

Editorial Standards

New and materially revised peptide profiles follow these editorial standards:

  • Peer-reviewed sources only. We cite published research from indexed journals. Conference abstracts, preprints, and manufacturer claims are identified as such when included.
  • Traceable citations. References link to PubMed, DOI records, trial registries, or authoritative regulatory sources so readers can inspect the underlying evidence.
  • No fabricated data. We never invent PMIDs, DOIs, study results, or author names. If we cannot verify a claim, we do not include it.
  • Balanced reporting. We report both positive and negative findings. Limitations of studies (small sample sizes, animal-only data, single research groups) are noted explicitly.
  • Clear distinction between human and animal data. We always specify whether evidence comes from in vitro, animal, or human studies.

Review Status

  • New publications and regulatory changes are prioritized by scientific significance, safety relevance, reader interest, and the age of the existing page.
  • Database-backed profiles use a consistent evidence structure. Legacy research guides may have lighter citation coverage until they receive a full editorial review.
  • A visible update date indicates when a page was materially reviewed; it is not automatically changed by a deployment.

Readers should use the linked evidence and page update date together when judging currency.

What We Are Not
